New Year, New Life

A new year has begun, 2015 is here to stay (until next year). By this time, you may be sick of hearing other’s new years resolutions, possibly already slacking with your “get in shape” goal and what not. Don’t worry, this isn’t a post that’ll make you want to gouge your eyes out (hopefully) with resolutions and what not so read on good reader, read on.

It seems as we get older, time moves rapidly and years pass by within a blink of the eye. If you think about it, every day is just another day where the sun rises and sets over the Earth, life begins and ends. But come January 1st, we as humans view a new year as a new beginning. Most of us see it as a reset, a fresh start and so we begin again, continuing life with a refreshed approach to each year hoping it ends up better than the last. (Unless of course you had one kick-ass previous year and it may seem impossible to achieve a much better year, right on!)

Most people make lists of goals to reach throughout the year and let’s be honest, they end up being half assed or forgotten. Why? Half the time it’s a lack of motivation, we lose ambition or just end up getting too busy with other things. Life happens and that’s okay.

So what can we do to ensure we have a good year and achieve goals? How does one approach a new year ‘hitting the ground running’?

Don’t plan for anything other than self-growth, prune out the negative, and say yes more often.

Now I’m not saying to not have goals, goals are great to have, but don’t go in telling yourself “Oh I want to do this, I want to do that”, go in saying “I will do this. I will do that”. What you do with your life is completely determined by you and your approach.

Something that I’m still learning is not everything will go as planned. You can spend hours, days, weeks, months, years planning for something and come the time of it actually happening, it will most likely not go exactly as planned. It’s fine for you to have

September Favorites

I’m someone who tends to stick to the same routine and usage of products but lately I’ve been forcing myself to stray from the routine and try new things. And thus, I have accumulated a little list of products that I’ve recently started using and some things that I just always really like and enjoy.

Skin Care:

I’m very particular about my skin being as I’ve had acne for over 14 years and it’s the one of the main things I’m really self conscious about. It’s very rare for me to use different products on my skin being as I always fear having bad reactions or it worsening my skins condition. But, here are a few products I’ve been using and are finding to be my favorites.

One day I was tweeting about how I was fed up with acne and this company, Innate Skin, tweeted to me saying that it could be a deficiency in vitamins and offered to give me a sample of their product to see if it helped at all. Now, I’ve tried almost everything (except Accutane) and none of it seemed to work, or perhaps I wasn’t aware and taking or doing things properly, and so I said to myself, why not try it? And so they sent me a couple months supply and included a mask that they were still working on and said to just let them know how I liked it. Once I got the vitamin packs, I was honestly a bit nervous to try them but figured, eh what the hell, and stuck to taking them consistently every morning with my breakfast for a few months to see how it would affect my skin. Over time, I noticed that most if any breakouts were either from hormonal changes from my period or stress mainly. I feel like taking these vitamins, mixed with using my Clarasonic Mia and Lush’s Grease Lightning are the perfect mix (along with some relaxation to reduce stress and clean eating) for my skin to finally become clear and less aggravating. If you’re fed up with acne and want to give this a shot…

15 Facts About Me

Though I’m on the internet and post pretty often, there’s still so much you may not know about me. Well, there’s definitely a lot you just can’t learn about a person through the internets. So I felt it’d be fun to post some facts about myself so you can get to know me a bit better! It’d be awesome to read about YOU as well, so post some facts about yourself in the comments or feel free to make a video telling me your facts and make it a video response to my “7 Facts About Me” video :D

Let’s dive in!

1. Growing up, all I wanted to do was play videogames, collect worms, and play baseball with my little brother and dad in the street.
2. I used to film my friend and I dancing and random skits as a kid. We would set up a camera and choreograph dances to try and make a music video. We, at one point,

Being “Popular”

I always see people changing themselves to fit in with crowds, to try and be what people classify as “popular” and or try to find ways to get attention from others. Why? I can understand some of the reasonings but ultimately, why? Why change who you are to get a better social status among those who think they’re so high and mighty? Don’t let them decide who you get to be.

114527922_The_Mean__356423c Everything in life is the way it is because we perceive it to be that way. If a certain group of people are classified as “popular” because they look a certain way or act a certain way, why not see each of them as they really individually are instead of allowing them to be perceived in a silly cliche society tends to brand others with.

When I Die – RE: Rules Upon Death

Death. It unfortunately happens every single day all around us and it’s something we try to not think about it. But with time, we all have to face death in one way or another.

Back in 2012, Carrie Hope Fletcher, also known as It’sWayPastMyBedTime, posted a video discussing how she wants her funeral to be like and it got me thinking. She made a lot of points that I feel are fantastic ideas so definitely check out her video.

Now, death naturally is a sad thing. Loosing anyone in your life or someone you love will almost always be hard, but to me, each and every person that passes should be, in a sense, celebrated.

So for my funeral, I have a little plan for anyone that may attend. First and foremost, let’s toss the word “funeral”. When I go, it’s going to be a little gathering, a party if you will. Not in celebration that I am dead, but in celebration of the life I lived and the connections I had with each and every person that was in my life.

I’m a Wizard | Thoughts from Places

I took a lovely trip through Florida earlier in January to disconnect from the internet, well at least spending as little time as I could on the internet. Traveling through to St. Augustine where I walked through Fort Castillo de San Marcos, found the Fountain of Youth, and then took a trip to Universal Studios in Orlando and well, of course went to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. I had a lovely time and wanted to share you some of the awesome things I did. I know this is a bit different but I do hope you enjoyed this!

I also posted some photos from my trip on my Instagram, go check ’em out – http://instagram.com/pirategrayson

Project for Awesome [2012]

Every year on December 17th, a majority of the YouTube community take part in Project for Awesome which was started by Hank and John Green of the Vlogbrothers back in 2007.

The Project for Awesome is an annual event on YouTube in which thousands of video creators make videos supporting their favorite charity. Anybody is allowed to participate – simply make a video about a charity you support and post it on YouTube on December 17th. Then tune into the livestream and join in the commenting and donating fun. DFTBA!

Now there are so many charities that are truly amazing and I wish I could donate and promote each and every one of them as they all do what they can to help the cause they’re fighting for. But here are four of my favorite charities. Anything can help so if you can, check out these charities and donate what you can to help. I also suggest looking into other charities that are for great causes and can help all around the world that may be featured here – ProjectforAwesome.com

Nutty Breakfast Pizza

Are you feeling a bit wild and want to make a delicious breakfast pizza? It’s a simple, quick and fun way to make breakfast just a bit better. Try my latest little creation, the Nutty Breakfast Pizza :)

Ingredients:
– Pancake Mix
– Nutella
– Cereal of your choice (I used Cap’n Crunch Berries)
– Fruit of your choice (I used Strawberries and Blueberries)
– Any other type of breakfast meal you’d like to put on it.

Alright! So you are feeling wild aren’t you? You want to try out this delicious breakfast meal. Keep in mind this is a recipe type thing meant for one person – but you can work with it as you’d like. Well then, let’s begin!

First things first, make a pancake. You can make as many as you’d like, but these are meant to be mini-pizza type things that a single person can eat themselves. Once the pancake is made, the magic really begins.

Spread the Nutella as you’d like on the top of the pancake, then sprinkle the cereal you’d like on top of that. Think of it as a pizza, just using different ingredients.

As you go, sprinkle on your fruit or any other type of breakfast you’d like to mesh with this magnificent Breakfast Pizza and voilà!

Simple, delicious and spices up your breakfast! Make as many as you’d like for whomever you’d like and enjoy :) Below is my video where I make it so you can see exactly what I do :)
